出生於菲律賓的宿霧，本身已走「戲劇」路線的 Raquela 不甘被困小城，空有一身美麗而無得發圍，所以女兒心一直想要勇闖巴黎，過著期盼中的浪漫甜美生活。為了走出窮鄉，他決定來個事業轉型，不再企街，轉行拍網上四仔，最後更一舉成名，讓他實現心中所願。來到浮誇世界中，認識了來自冰島做開嬌嬌仔 (lady boy) 的 Valerie，結成死黨一起繼續追尋未完成的理想。跨性別人士在他鄉尋找自己的故事，原來也可以好窩心好鬼 sweet。
Blurring the lines between fiction and reality, director Olaf de Fleur's unique feature focuses on Raquela, a transsexual Filipina prostitute who dreams of escaping her harsh reality for a fairy tale life in the West. Tired of working the streets, she turns to internet porn, where she seems to hit the goldmine – a chance to travel to Iceland, and an offer of a visa from Michael, the website's New York based owner. But is it all too good to be true? A film that blends humor to deal with the harsh reality faced by many, the journey by RAQUELA is one that is funny, inspiring and affecting. Winner of best feature TEDDY award at the 2008 Berlin film festival.
