A moving and loving tribute to Derek Jarman, one of the greatest filmmakers of his generation, DEREK is a deeply personal and political film by those closest to him. Tilda Swinton, Jarman's muse, narrates the journey via a letter, expressing her unadulterated love for a dear friend. Friend and fellow filmmaker Isaac Julien assembles a collage of rare interviews, home movies and film clips chronicling a life that has influenced and enriched so many, and of a brave soul who continued to fight politically and artistically, even as his life was slowly taken away by HIV. A hero and inspiration to those in his life and beyond, we are proud to present a film that is such a fitting tribute to a great man who deserved nothing less.
