We’ve all had bad hair days but for Kwang, his naturally curly hair is really an embarrassment for him. So much so that he uses a hair straightener on it every morning before school. When the rainy season comes he can’t hide it any longer and fellow student Cheng discovers his secret. It Seems to Rain obviously has a deeper meaning than just straightening hair. It parallels his sexuality – why should he make his hair straight instead of leaving it naturally curly… or force himself to be straight versus doing what comes naturally? While the word association is obvious the movie delves deeper and covers a lot of territory in a short time.
