一部比明星緋聞更有看頭的諷刺佳構。兩個主人翁都叫Jay，一個是八卦新聞節目製作人，一個是慘遭殺害的前高中教師，前者來到後者老家尋找報導材料，不只攪亂一池春水，也教媒體與人性的畸形，無所遁形。而兩個Jay都是Gay的曖昧對照，不僅讓本片輻射出複雜的情慾光譜，意想不到的結局更激盪出耐人尋味的解讀空間。

Jay is arguably the most acclaimed and awarded film of 2008 in the Philippines and abroad.
The film has won 6 international awards in Berlin, Barelona, Geneva, Bahamas, Bangkok, and Mexico and has been selected in 23 international film festivals.
It is the first debut Filipino film to have an international premiere at the prestigious Venice International Film Festival where it competed for the Orizzonti Prize.
Even its screenplay won the Grand Prize of the Cinemanila-FDCP Scriptwriting Contest in 2007. 8
The script was entered to the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival where it was chosen as one of the 10 finalists and emerged as the Best Film of 2008.
The Cinema Evaluation Board gave it a grade of A, and the MTRCB has rated it R-13, highlighting its powerful insight rather than the controversial frontal nudity of its lead actor.
Jay, a gay school teacher, is brutally murdered in an apparent sex-crime.
Even before his family hears about it, a TV producer -also named Jay- and his camera crew are inside their house to document their shock and grief.
The TV producer convinces the family to let him shoot the dead man's wake and funeral for a "reality show" is the dead man's namesake- a "journalist" who knows that the "truth" is whatever works on camera.

观后感
这届电影节的同志影片不多，随着"Boy"（另一部来自菲律宾的同志电影）的退出，"Jay"似乎就成了“孤军作战”的影片，然而，"Jay"的重点并不是放在同性恋。
"Jay"呈现了三个层面：真实、拍摄真实的幕后过程，以及拍摄出来的成果，并探讨了这些层面之间的矛盾与区别，暴露了一些所谓纪录片和实况电视的荒谬性和道德问题。
电影一开始，观众会以为那就是他们进场看的“电影”：一名同性恋教师被杀害，家人闻讯之后悲伤不已。正当观众已经开始投入剧情时，他们又被拉回到一个旁观者的身份，看着一名节目制作人如何去拍摄这段实况节目。
由此之后，观众就会看到这部实况节目令人啼笑皆非的幕后“花絮”：摄影师不小心压死了一只小鸡、制作人开始和死者的前男友打情骂俏、母亲需要重拍看见儿子尸体的那一幕、市长送了烧猪换来镜头前的一次曝光、拍摄嫌犯被捕过程而结果差点让他逃跑。
最让人无法接受的竟然是，制作人决定删掉凶手杀害死者的真正理由...
这让从事幕后工作的阿达也感触良多，为了呈现真实，而刻意扭曲了真实或将其戏剧化，媒体的良知和道德很容易就这样被牺牲掉。

剧情简介：
Jay, a gay schoolteacher, is stabbed in an apparent sex-crime. But this is not what this film is about. Even before his family hears about the death, another Jay, a conniving TV producer, moves inside the family house with his crew to document their reactions.
This new Jay convinces the family to let them shoot the dead man’s wake and funeral for a “reality show”, even up till the moment when the murderer is found. The plan goes so well that even the grieving mother is willing to redo the scene when she first confronts her son’s corpse。
Director Francis Xavier Pasion explodes the gap between onscreen reality and real-life in this debut feature, which critiques sensationalist journalism by revealing what is entailed in the making of a documentary. The truth is never quite what it seems. Jay took the Best Film and Best Actor prizes at the Cinemalaya Film Festival.
